Caribou Hunting

Hunting caribou in Greenland is much more demanding than hunting musk ox. Caribou hunting nearly always takes place in the magnificent mountains of Greenland, therefore the hunters need to be in prime physical shape.

We exclusively spot and stalk hunt the elusive bulls in the open landscape. The vast landscape of Greenland and the long stalks for these trophy animals has an immense attraction for any hunter. Trophy hunting for caribou is only allowed from the 20th of August to the 15th of October. The best weeks are the last week in September and the first week in October, just before the rut of the caribou starts. If you hunt before the 1st of September the chance of the antlers still being in velvet is very high. During the fall hunt we also offer the very popular combination hunt for caribou and musk ox.

Hunting a large Caribou bull can be quite demanding. Stalking in the hills of Greenland is an experience itself – To harvest a majestic bull with his white collar is one of the most rewarding things Greenland has to offer.
